InsectSync 2.0

Yuxuan Weng

InsectSync 2.0 is an experiential installation that merges insect compound vision with tracheal breathing rhythms, simulating the logic of diapause. It guides users to sense breathing dysregulation under pressure and transition from stress-driven acceleration to a “pause–adaptation” state through non-human rhythms. Rooted in the artist’s personal reflections on compensatory breathing during anxiety, the project challenges human-centered stress responses and reimagines regulation inspired by insect resilience. Through layered visual, tactile, and auditory engagement, participants move from tension toward rhythmic release. The work invites reflection on how ecological intelligence might offer alternative strategies for embodied emotional regulation.
