YICHU 1.0 is a 10-minute experimental short film that explores the intersection of digital identity, consciousness, and the human experience through the lens of cyberfeminism. Blending AI-generated visuals with performance art, the work delves into the complexities of self-representation in an increasingly digital world. The protagonist, a digital avatar of the artist herself, embarks on a journey of self-discovery in a world where the boundaries between physical and virtual selves are fluid and ever-shifting. Drawing inspiration from personal loss and the desire to memorialise a loved one, YICHU 1.0 examines the tension between memory, technology, and identity in the digital age. The film is a reflection of the artist’s own exploration of grief and liberation, using AI to create a space where control over narrative and self-image is both empowering and disorienting. The visuals evoke a sense of both the familiar and the uncanny, challenging the audience to question what it means to exist in a world dominated by algorithms, AI, and constant technological advancement. Through its blend of raw, human emotion and futuristic imagery, YICHU 1.0 invites viewers to reconsider their relationship with technology and the self in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
