Nordic Interface
A New Site-specific installation by Entangled Others

On Friday evening, we begin the weekend with the unveiling of a new commission by Entangled Others, the inaugural artists selected for the Nordic Interface program. Created by Kunstsilo and The Lumen Prize and supported by Cultiva, Nordic Interface is a new talent development program supporting artists working with technology across the Nordic region. The program connects selected artists with Lumen’s international community of curators, researchers, and cultural leaders, providing mentorship, production support, and the opportunity to realize an ambitious new work at Kunstsilo.

For its inaugural edition, artist duo Feileacan Kirkbride McCormick and Sofia Crespo, working together as Entangled Others, have developed a new site-specific work for Kunstsilo’s monumental Silohall.

Their practice considers the complex relationships between artificial intelligence and biological systems. The commission marks a continuation of their relationship with Lumen following their 2025 Nature & Climate Award win, and carries particular significance for McCormick, who grew up near Kristiansand.

Nordic Interface builds on more than five years of partnership between Lumen and Kunstsilo. What started as a shared commitment to recognizing Nordic artists has grown into a year-round collaboration focused on mentorship, artistic development, international exchange, and new opportunities for artists.

This commission is the first expression of that next chapter.

The Liminal Reveview:
New Signals in Arts Technologies

Before we celebrate this year’s winners, Saturday begins with conversation.

The Liminal Review is Lumen’s annual trends publication, drawing on the thousands of works submitted to the Prize to identify the ideas, questions, and creative approaches emerging across contemporary art and technology.

The 2026 edition, informed by more than 2,200 submissions from 82 countries, looks beyond individual technologies to consider what artists are telling us about the cultural moment we are living through.

Following its launch at Tate Modern in September, we bring The Liminal Review to Kunstsilo for an afternoon of conversations with artists, curators, researchers, and cultural leaders from across the Lumen community.

Together, we’ll look at some of the signals emerging from this year’s Prize and consider what they might tell us about where artistic practice is heading next.

Lumen x Kunstsilo
Five Years of Building Together.

Our return to Kunstsilo is particularly meaningful. The relationship between The Lumen Prize and Kunstsilo began in 2020 with a shared ambition to give Nordic artists working with technology greater international visibility.

Since then, the Nordic Award has recognized artists from across the region, while the partnership itself has grown into something much larger.

Today, Lumen and Kunstsilo work together across awards, commissions, mentorship, public programming, and international exchange. Nordic Interface marks the latest evolution of that relationship, creating deeper and longer-term support for artists beyond a single moment of recognition.

Kunstsilo is also a fitting home for this gathering. Built within a transformed 1930s grain silo and home to the Tangen Collection of Nordic modernism, the museum brings artistic history into conversation with contemporary practice.

Together, Lumen and Kunstsilo are creating a meeting place between those histories and the artists defining what comes next.
