The Lumen Prize champions the innovative possibilities of technology-driven creativity. We provide the pre-eminent platform showcasing artists who are pioneering new visual languages at the intersection of art and technology. Lumen is affiliated with Lumen Studios, a UK-based digital arts champion which builds opportunities for Lumen artists by curating exhibitions, commissions and events for art venues, cultural institutions and public spaces around the world as well as delivering consultancy services for partners globally.

Founder & Executive Director Emeritus
Before founding the Lumen Prize in 2012, Carla worked as a financial journalist for the Financial Times, Fortune Magazine and The Economist Group located in Tokyo, Hong Kong and London. Following a move to Wales, Carla founded the Lumen Prize for Art and Technology in 2012. In 2018, she founded Lumen Art Projects, which provides exhibitions, commissions and events for partners globally using the Lumen Prize artist network. An established writer, speaker and consultant on art and technology, Carla’s goal is to build the understanding and enjoyment of art created with technology as well as creating more opportunities for the artists who make it.

Director of Exhibitions
Jack graduated with distinction from the University of the Arts London (UAL) in 2016 with an MA (Hons) in Fine Art Digital and has ten years’ of experience working in the digital arts. As Director of Lumen Art Projects, he works closely to create relationships with Lumen artists and to build opportunities for them. Since joining Lumen in 2015, he has curated and produced exhibitions around the world with partners including the Barbican Centre, Tate Modern, Eureka! Museum, ITHRA, SKMU Kunstsilo and Today Museum Bejing among others. When not working you can find him in the garden.
