I Am Feasible is part of the series J. Doe, An Abstract Identity — an ongoing investigation into selfhood, genetic science, and the philosophical limits of identity in the age of technoscientific acceleration. The work departs from a biological fact: humans share 99.9% of their DNA. From within that 0.1% of difference, I sourced 23 anonymous genetic profiles from NIH GenBank — the world's open-access genomic repository, via the Human Pangenome Reference Consortium — representing five continents.I assembled them chromosome by chromosome into a single chimeric genome: a being that belongs to no one and to everyone simultaneously. I extracted five probable physical characteristics from the composite profile. These parameters were fed into a generative AI (Generated Photos) which produced 99 distinct synthetic faces — each a possible manifestation of the same genetic identity. One genome. Ninety-nine human beings. The installation centers on a custom interactive application built on a video game interface — a deliberate allegory: the GPU chips that powered the gaming industry became the backbone of AI's exponential development. Visitors select facial fragments from J. Doe's 99 possible faces and merge them with their own. They become amateur gods, recombining identity the way CRISPR recombines biological code. The work draws on Jean-Luc Nancy's plural singularity, Gilles Deleuze's identity-as-difference, and Donna Haraway's cyborg theory — proposing that the self is not a fixed essence but a field of variation, collective and anonymous.
